Thinking about joining AFD?
Come fly with us!
All new to AFD divers are invited to try 2 practices before signing up.
We'd like all divers to try diving before committing to sign up to make sure it will be an enjoyable experience for them. If new divers enjoy their first two practices enough to sign up for the team, we'd love to have you. If diving isn't for them, that's okay too! You can connect with our coaching staff using the link below to schedule your 2 free 'try out' practices. These practices are for the diver to try out for the team but more for them to try out the sport of diving and see what their practices will be like.
Any brand new divers should reference the Learn To Dive practice schedule for their 2 free practices.
What you need to know
As a coaching staff...
We will always care about all of our athletes as people first, divers second. Diving will always be something our athletes do, it will not be who they are. We will work with our athletes to help them set their own goals and offer insight and guidance to make those goals appropriate, based on skill and commitment level. We are focused on how far your athlete can go in diving, not how fast they can get there.
Joining the Team and Practice Group Registration
- All divers need to complete the appropriate Season Membership before registering for a practice group. You are not able to register for a practice group until you have completed your 2025 season membership. These Season Memberships are just covering your annual fees - training tuition is a separate cost each session.
- 2025 Learn To Dive/HS Varsity Season Membership
- 2025 Future Flyers Season Membership
- 2025 National Team Membership
- Once you have completed this step, you will get a confirmation email with a link to your eligible practice group. Before you sign up for your training group (Step 3), please make sure that you complete Step 2.
- All AFD divers need to have active AAU & USA DIVING MEMBERSHIPS before completing any session registration. These memberships are not required for your two free "tryout" practices.
- Once you have your AAU & USA Diving Memberships, you can register for your training group by visiting the group on the PROGRAMS tab above, or by following the link in your 2025 Team Membership confirmation email.
Costs
Training costs will vary by training group. Practices start at roughly $20 per hour of practice and are discounted based on the number of training days per week a diver is registered for. As divers progress through training groups, hourly training costs are reduced but training time will increase.
We also offer discounts to families with multiple divers signed up.
